With testosterone at the tip of your tongue
And my baiting breath gracing your skin
We unclipped composure
And lived a moment of impatience.
When you kissed me with those vigorous lips,
I wanted to take all your life’s burden
Down my throat, along with your taste
It would be nothing less than some crazy gustatory exotica anyway.
With your body over mine, straining my inhibitions
It felt like a reflection of every good I’d’ve ever done
I gave in to that bloom and sweat and suppleness so much that
I didn’t miss long nails or silken sheets or Beethoven.
And every nibble stung with promises
Helped me fall from grace in this brawling love
Where one moment you bruised me
Red and beige, with your teeth lodging in my flesh
Sapping it off of all reluctance
And the next moment traced constellations on my back.
Both things telling me
You are my defense system against the worldly accusations that chase love.
And I’m glad this stupor will accompany us on all those miles we have to go,
Before we sleep together.
